# veDelegate has sold about $450k of its 10% voting fee. Does that belong in this DAO?

B3TR is about **$0.008** , and the whole token is about a **$3.9 million** market cap (CoinGecko, 26 Oct 2026: $3.86 million, 478 million supply). All-time high was **$0.58** on 31 Jan 2025.

Against that, veDelegate has spent two years taking 10% of its users’ voting rewards and selling the B3TR. The sales I could price come to about **$448,000**. Another **1.13 million B3TR** left earlier, before a market price existed, so that number is a floor. This also excludes the 900k b3tr vedelgate sold for team allocation and 1.7 million for development.

I do not think that is a service the DAO should keep paying for. **veDelegate does not pay people for sustainable actions, which in my opinion is the primary goal of the whole DAO.** It lets people skip the work, farm voting rewards. I think that makes them a negative actor. I want this thread to test that, and I want people to check the wallets rather than take my word for it.

## **What they take**

veDelegate stakes a user’s B3TR or VOT3 and votes for them. Their own docs say the service fee is **10% of weekly voting rewards** (20% for some wallets without a passport).

On chain that 10% is exact. The pool’s fee setting is 1,000 out of 10,000. Each week their operator calls `maintenance()` on the Trigger contract, and one transaction does three things:

1. VoterRewards pays the full reward to the user’s staking wallet.
2. That wallet sends 10% to veDelegate’s fee contract.
3. The other 90% is converted to VOT3 and stays with the user.

## **Where the 10% went**

From 25 Jun 2024 to 26 Oct 2026, about **7.47 million B3TR** passed through the fee contract `0x28c1893df0e4eb50ed63f7eb77a0482c98ac2a74`. That contract holds **0 B3TR** today.

They did convert a lot of it to VOT3 and later convert it back. That is the same tokens being parked and then unwound, not a second pile. After the unwind, **7.43 million B3TR** was sent to one wallet:

`0xa151722ad684e6eb4ce1ed4021608de1bc1196aa`

That wallet has taken in 8.28 million B3TR and sent out 8.28 million. Its B3TR balance is 0. About **90%** of what it received came from the fee contract. The rest came from elsewhere, including veB3TR, so it is not a pure fee wallet.

## **What they sold**

**On DEXes: $230,975.**

1,028 swaps. **4.99 million B3TR** sold, **12.55 million VET** received. I priced each sale as the VET that came back in that same transaction, times that day’s Binance VET/USDT close.

| **Period** | **B3TR sold** | **Dollars they received** |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Jul 2024 | 1,250 | $101 |
| 2025 | 2.36 million | $202,351 |
| Jan–Oct 2026 | 2.63 million | $28,522 |

They are still doing it. Today, on 26 Oct 2026 this wallet swapped 43,487 B3TR for 53,584 VET:

[explore.vechain.org/transactions/0xe45a72…2cc80a9cf7365c49a2f9db](https://explore.vechain.org/transactions/0xe45a72e2ca33abed01f8bb0f1a5487694c63f324132cc80a9cf7365c49a2f9db)

**To another wallet: $217,425 that I could price, and 1.13 million B3TR that I could not.**

Another **2.16 million B3TR** was plain-transferred to `0x546cd3cbcba89107f2b0917cb60b17347fe955c4`, which forwarded it to `0x15bccf377f1a9bbd0cd8e24d031c9451326f29a0`. That address has paid B3TR out to thousands of wallets and has moved about 20.4 billion VET through it.

There is no VET in those transfer transactions, so I priced them off the B3TR/VET pool at that block, times the same daily VET price.

- 25 Nov 2024 through 17 Mar 2025: **1.03 million B3TR, $217,425.** January and February 2025 are most of that, about $159,000. That is the same window as B3TR’s all-time high.
- 9 Jul 2024 through 18 Nov 2024: **1,132,976 B3TR.** No pool yet, and no B3TR price history yet. I am not inventing a dollar number for these.

Add the two priced pieces: **about $448,000.** That is roughly **12% of today’s entire market cap** , taken out over two years.

The VET does not stay in the selling wallet either. It received 18.79 million VET and sent on 18.67 million. It holds about 120,000 VET now. The largest chunks went to a handful of other wallets, which also sit near zero.

## **Why I think this hurts the DAO**

veDelegate’s docs say the fee pays for operations and for pushing their GM NFT rank, which they say increases rewards for their own users.

Here is the trade the rest of us are in:

- Their user does not have to show up, vote, or do a sustainable action. They delegate and pay 10%.
- That 10% is B3TR the emissions schedule would otherwise have left with voters.
- veDelegate sells it for VET and moves the VET on.
- Holders of a $3.9 million token absorb the sell pressure.

**The DAO was built to pay for sustainable actions. A product whose business is “do nothing, we will farm the voting rewards, and we will sell our cut” totally goes against that mission.** The GM boost makes it worse if the higher payout is what convinces people to stop voting themselves and route through veDelegate.

I do not think a 10% skim that is systematically sold is value to the ecosystem. It is a toll, and the toll is dumped.

## **What I am asking**

Should veDelegate continue to be funded by weekly emissions from the DAO? I think the answer is no.

If someone thinks the right outcome is narrower than “remove them from the DAO,” say what that is.

Excellent and very detailed proposal. I was stunned when I’ve read amounts and believe many others will be stunned as well. You have my absolute support.
