This VIP seeks to eliminate confusion surrounding token standards within the Vechain ecosystem while enhancing cross-chain compatibility with platforms utilizing Ethereum Request for Comment (ERC) standards: VIP-240.

This makes sense to me. We need to stop deviating from accepted standards. By using accepted standards we are fostering cross chain interoperability.
An important note is that this VIP does not prevent developers or suggest that developers should migrate standards it is just a recommendation to use the standards which are common across many EVM chains.
