Introducing the VeBetterDAO Visa Card Incentive Program

Introducing the VeBetterDAO Visa Card Incentive Program

Dear VeBetterDAO Community,

We are excited to share a new initiative that brings real-world utility to B3TR and strengthens the adoption of VeBetterDAO. As we continue building a decentralized and sustainable ecosystem, one key challenge has been making it easier for users to spend and utilize B3TR in everyday transactions. Today, we are taking a big step forward with the VeBetterDAO Visa Card.

Why the VeBetterDAO Visa Card Matters

The introduction of this card is a significant milestone for our ecosystem. It allows users to top up their Visa card with B3TR, making it instantly spendable anywhere Visa is accepted. This bridges the gap between Web3 rewards and real-world usage, ensuring that B3TR is more than just a token—it becomes a practical asset in users’ daily lives.

To open a VeBetterDAO Visa Card, users will need to cover an issuance fee of approximately $30. While this cost is necessary for onboarding, we want to ensure strong adoption and encourage early users to take advantage of this opportunity.

Incentivizing Early Adoption: A Proposal for Community Rewards

To further drive adoption, the VeChain Foundation is proposing a 1,000,000 B3TR allocation from the VeBetterDAO treasury to reward the first 5,000 users who activate their Visa card. Here’s how it works:

  • Each user who successfully opens a VeBetterDAO Visa Card will receive 200 B3TR as a reward.
  • The card issuer will be responsible for adding the 200 B3TR reward to users’ Visa card accounts.
  • This reward will be directly credited to their Visa card account, allowing users to top up instantly or withdraw to an on-chain address.
  • Rewards will be distributed on a monthly basis. At the beginning of each month, the card issuer will count the number of new activations from the previous month and distribute the corresponding B3TR rewards.

This initiative is designed to encourage more users to onboard, increase B3TR’s usability, and drive real-world adoption. We believe this will be a powerful step toward mainstream adoption of VeBetterDAO and its mission.

Below is the formal proposal for this initiative:

Proposal: VeBetterDAO Visa Card User Incentive Program

Summary

This proposal seeks to allocate 1,000,000 B3TR from the VeBetterDAO treasury to incentivize the first 5,000 users who activate the VeBetterDAO Visa Card. Each eligible user will receive 200 B3TR, which will be credited to their Visa card account by the card issuer. In total, this initiative will reward 5,000 users and distribute 1,000,000 B3TR over the campaign period.

Motivation

The VeBetterDAO Visa Card provides a seamless way for users to spend B3TR in everyday transactions. However, a $30 issuance fee may be a barrier for adoption. By offering a B3TR reward, we aim to encourage more users to activate the card and integrate B3TR into their daily spending habits.

Proposal Details

  • A total of 1,000,000 B3TR will be allocated from the VeBetterDAO treasury.
  • The reward will be available to the first 5,000 users who activate a VeBetterDAO Visa Card.
  • Each eligible user will receive 200 B3TR, and the card issuer will be responsible for adding the 200 B3TR to users’ Visa card accounts.
  • Rewards will be distributed at the start of each month, based on the number of new activations in the previous month.

Benefits to VeBetterDAO

  1. Increased Utility of B3TR – Users can spend their tokens more easily.
  2. Stronger Ecosystem Engagement – Encourages adoption of the VeBetterDAO Visa Card.
  3. Boosted Awareness & Adoption – Expands VeBetterDAO’s real-world usability.

Voting & Implementation

If approved, the incentive program will be implemented immediately after the VeBetterDAO Visa Card launch, with rewards starting in the following distribution cycle. The card issuer will be responsible for tracking new activations and distributing the 200 B3TR rewards to users’ Visa card accounts.

We invite the community to discuss and vote on this proposal. Your support and participation are essential in shaping the future of VeBetterDAO!

Let’s bring VeBetterDAO closer to everyday life.

Sincerely,
VeChain Foundation Team

Before I can support this proposal I will need to have a better understanding of the selected supplier and the benefits compared to other providers.

Since we are listed on Bybit, users can already get a ByBit card, which is free card that works with apple / google / samsung pay / mastercard. The Bybit card allows them to use their B3TR to make every day purchases, and its free and available right now.

Why do we need to spend 1 mil B3TR from the treasury on what sounds like a less interesting crypto card?

The VeBetterDAO Visa Card is designed to complement existing options and expand accessibility, particularly for users in the UK and US, where the Bybit Card is unavailable.

The Foundation carefully evaluated multiple providers based on pricing, features, and integration potential before selecting this issuer. Due to an NDA, we cannot disclose the issuer before launch, but more details will be shared soon—stay tuned.

Unlike third-party solutions, this white-labeled card is built for VeBetterDAO, allowing for future ecosystem benefits such as easier collaboration with ecosystem dApps, exclusive perks for B3TR holders and more.

Looking forward to hearing more! I think it would be great if there is some sort of implementation that dApps could make for sign-ups/onboarding within their dApps that is part of the vechain-dapp-kit or something similar.

Great way to complete the cycle for user journey within every dApp!

A top up should be available from within the VeWorld App as manual and recurring automatic transfer to do the top up. It should be a card that works in most European countries and that you can add the card in the digital wallet of the phone. So you can use the real card or the digital version stored within the phone.

It makes sense to foresee dApp integration options with for example Greencart so you can also claim the receipt back into the Greencart dApp.

As a VeChain/VET supporter from Japan, I’m really excited about the new VeBetterDAO Visa Card and its real-world utility for $B3TR. Japan has one of the largest VeBetterDAO user communities (3.5k+ users in a week here, leading globally!), and VeChain is even showcasing VeBetter at Expo 2025 Osaka. This makes me wonder: will Japan be added to the supported countries for the Visa card in the near future?

Currently, it seems we cannot apply for the card in Japan due to local regulations. Japan’s laws are quite strict – foreign prepaid cards cannot be promoted or issued here without a licensed local issuer. But this issue is not impossible to overcome.

In fact, a project called Slash is preparing to launch Japan’s first legally compliant crypto Visa card by the end of June 2025. The Slash Card will be issued in cooperation with a registered Japanese financial entity, enabling it to follow Japan’s Payment Services Act. It is backed by USDC and will allow direct wallet-to-Visa payments, meaning users can spend their crypto instantly at any Visa merchant – no pre-conversion needed.

I believe this model could be inspiring for VeBetterDAO’s future development. It would be amazing if VeChain could consider a similar partnership or approach to make the VeBetterDAO Visa Card available in Japan as well. With VeChain participating in Expo 2025 Osaka, a Japanese-compatible card could be a great example of real-world adoption of Web3 for visitors and local users.

Any insights or roadmap regarding possible Japan support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your amazing work – we’re excited to support the growth of VeBetterDAO!

As a Vyvo user based in Japan, I’ve been using both the VyvoPay card and the Odee-branded Mastercard, which are issued by Odee Bank. These two card types serve different purposes, and both have been very convenient for Japanese users like myself. Thanks to Vyvo’s continued efforts and strong partnership with Odee, these cards are accessible even in Japan. While they may operate in a regulatory gray zone, they function reliably, and I’m truly grateful to be one of the users benefiting from this unique setup.

That said, I also recognize the value of a locally licensed and fully compliant solution — such as the upcoming Slash Card, which is set to launch in Japan in June 2025. It’s backed by USDC and allows direct wallet-to-Visa transactions, which could further accelerate mainstream crypto adoption here.

Given the strong relationship between VeChain and Vyvo, and with VeBetterDAO gaining popularity in Japan, I believe a similar approach — possibly through a local issuer — could help expand the availability of the VeBetterDAO Visa Card in Japan. With VeChain participating in Expo 2025 Osaka, now could be a perfect opportunity to showcase such real-world Web3 integration.

Any roadmap or insight into bringing the VeBetterDAO Visa Card to Japan would be greatly appreciated. Thanks always for your amazing work!

Hello
I was thinking, wouldn’t it be better to do like with CRO?

Stake them for X months and get cashback for every purchase made? A cashback of X%.

..and its already up for supporting lol talk about forcing it

Its too early for this, sort the farming out first.

I think it’s important to clarify that the Visa card isn’t a distraction—it’s infrastructure. Just like the wallet or the DAO interface, it’s a foundational tool that expands what’s possible with B3TR in the real world.

Concerns about farming are valid, but the Foundation has already provided tools to address this—bot signaling. These systems are live. If anyone believes they need to be improved, the forum is the place to raise that and propose enhancements.

Delaying real-world utility while waiting for everything to be “perfect” isn’t how ecosystems grow. Let’s keep building and refining in parallel.

A voluntary bot signalling does not address anything. The community is doing more it seems.

Now the proposal gets its support that seems to have gotten the majority from the foundation. So much for a “community”.. why even start this post, if the people who were still asking questions are not going to get answered? 1mil B3TR from the treasury is unnecessary for this. But yes lets continue to build a house of cards.

I will be voting against, like many others.. not that it will matter.

From my perspective, farmer activity is inevitable in any free-mint system. The real solution isn’t endless whack-a-mole—it’s building products that attract and retain real users so that farmers become a minority influence.

The dev team has been engaging with dApps to strengthen VePassport to tackle farming issue more meaningfully.

This card initiative is one piece of that broader push—bringing utility, reach, and user value. We can (and should) keep improving the system, but pausing progress while waiting for perfection won’t help.

The problem of farmers is known and must always maintain high attention, however I do not believe that this is the most suitable space to talk about it, I remain convinced that if many ideas that have been discussed in this link that I am attaching to you were adopted we will probably make farmer activities to a minimum (I think that it is impossible to completely eliminate them).
