Remove Green Commuter from the VeBetterDAO Due to Ongoing Exploitation and Team Negligence

This proposal seeks to remove Green Commuter as a dApp within the VeBetterDAO ecosystem. Despite repeated warnings, the team has failed to address ongoing abuse through widespread use of fake commute data (e.g., fakemy.run), leading to the draining of daily B3TR rewards by cheaters. As a result, Green Commuter’s allocation is being farmed and dumped, increasing sell pressure on B3TR and harming the entire ecosystem.

Tools like fakemy.run allow users to simulate GPS movement and farm Green Commuter’s rewards without actually commuting. As a result, rewards are drained within hours of the daily cycle starting.

Lack of Accountability from the Green Commuter Team

I initially raised this issue to the Green Commuter team via direct message on X in May 2025 and multiple times publicly since, yet no effective mitigation or public response has been provided.

By failing to implement abuse detection (e.g., GPS validation, movement analysis), Green Commuter has allowed continued exploitation.

Negative Impact on B3TR Tokenomics

The B3TR tokens distributed to Green Commuter are being:

  1. Farmed by bots or cheaters.

  2. Immediately dumped into the market. This creates sell pressure, lowering the price and undermining the DAO’s token utility and trust.

Remove Green Commuter from the DAO list until:

  1. They implement robust anti-cheat mechanisms.

  2. Provide a public plan to address farming.

  3. Demonstrate a meaningful drop in farming activity.

If the team fails to provide this within 30 days, they should be permanently excluded from future DAO allocations.

We owe it to the ecosystem and the community to protect the integrity of B3TR rewards and hold dApps accountable. Vote to remove Green Commuter until they clean up the exploitation on their platform.

I had reached out to them multiple times on X, on both their Green Commuter and Mov3 accounts, but no response.

I even made sure that I commented on their posts as soon as they posted on X. Again, I was ignored.

Funnily enough, only now they decided to respond to my messages, after they noticed that a proposal has been made.

Their response was very disappointing and quite frankly very predictable.

I’m endorsing and voting for green commuter due to the really good use case they cover. I did ask them to take action more visibly as they did tell me several weeks ago about improvements they are working on to improve the bot farming.

I did notice as you said as well that rewards are either very little. The pool is empty early in the day and that the utilization is 90% and hence the reward payout for real activity is very little.

It must change also in my view.

In theory their use case is great, I completely agree with you. Originally, I used them daily and I voted weekly.

In recent months it’s been very difficult to get even 1 B3TR per submission, and that’s if and when the pools have B3TR to give out. Usually by 4pm my time they’re completely empty.

They bragged to say they have banned 4000 wallets. This is such a negligible amount considering the amount of signalled wallets on the DAO. 4000 wallets is laughable.

I reached out to these guys many times over the last months, and each time I was completely ignored. It took a proposal and community pressure for them to finally reach out to me.

They claimed ignorance, saying that they’re active on Telegram, and not X. That’s a terrible excuse, because they post on X at least once a week when they’re asking for votes.

They have a new dApp coming out, called MOV3. In the meantime, until that comes out, they are happy with allowing farmers to run rampant whilst the devs get their cut of the allocation every week.

I urge you to pull your endorsement from them to encourage them to make changes. I do not believe that they will voluntarily bow out of the DAO in order to protect the community’s interests (i.e the price of B3TR). This would be a very noble thing for them to do and would absolutely provide some redemption to their current reputation.

Sadly, I don’t believe that this proposal will gather enough support, simply because a lot of B3TR is locked away in VeDelegate that can’t be used to support proposals. However, this proposal has already served a purpose, which is to bring eyes to this problem, and to finally get an answer from the Green Commuter team.

In the interest of the ecosystem, this dApp should not be receiving allocation. The B3TR is being stolen and sold by farmers and is directly contributing to the price decrease.

Once again, thank you for your opinion, and I urge you to reconsider your endorsement to them whilst these problems are rampant.

I agree 100% with this removal, for the following reasons.

  1. They are self endorsed and can keep up scooping B3TR.
    2.Very little or unfriendly support when asked legitimate questions.
  2. Non responsive to honest questions either on X or Telegram.
  3. They only respond now that the proposal has been made.
  4. Bots are rampant (tried this morning at 07:00)
    Got a 7k run in, for a whopping 0.1B3TR.

A good idea, but terribly executed. You can even claim multiple runs at the same time and get double the B3TR if you use 2 tracking run apps connected to the system.

This is not difficult to prevent imo.

In light of Green Commuter’s recent announcement, I’ve decided to cancel my proposal.

You can reclaim your VOT3 back before the snapshot to maximise your rewards for next week, just head to the VBD governance page.

I truly do appreciate the vision and use-case of the dApp, but unfortunately it’s problems were too many to continue to the point where it was actively damaging the ecosystem.

Thanks to everyone for raising awareness for the issues, and I wish all the best to the green commuter team for their follow-up dApp.
